Celebrating Six Months

Parishes like to celebrate! So when my mother in law called me up to see if she could spend the day with us on Elijah's six month birthday and have a special "half birthday" day, I was happy to say "YES!".  I love celebrating milestones, and we have had some many happen so quickly lately, it seemed only appropriate that this "halfway" mark be recognized.  Elijah must have known that today was special because he decided to sleep in! It was the perfect day for it, a nice cool and crisp fall day and we spent the morning snuggling under the covers.  Grandma Parish arrived around 9:30 giving us plenty of time to get showered, dressed, fed and organized for our day.
Grandma Parish brought some six month birthday presents!

Wow, six month old and already good at opening wrapping paper. Our child for sure.

Getting a little help

A cool little doggie toy in the style of a laptop. Very cool!

Elijah has been resisting his infant car  seat lately and I had wondered if it was no longer comfortable since he is so long so we decided to switch over to his covertable car seat...much better fit! (Thank goodness Granddad surprised us with a visit the night before to help Mommy install it while Daddy worked late)

This was the inaugural drive for the new car seat!

Delicious lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. Elijah LOVES broccoli!
Yummy baby kisses!
We were going to nurse before leaving but certain babies decided they wanted a driving lesson. Elijah, you are six months old, not SIXTEEN!

Born to be wild.

All that driving practice wore him out. Elijah napped while we shopped for ingredients for  Mama's famous Gypsy Soup! Grandma wanted to learn how to make it because it is a great fall soup!

Sweet sleeping boy

My six month old boy......

What a ham! :)
