Annual Parish Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Last year, Chip and I began the tradition of sending out a family Christmas card produced from a Christmas photo shoot. The theme has been Santa and (last year pregnant) Mrs. Clause. We were very excited to continue this tradition this year. We were going to dress Elijah up as Santa and have us be the elves but decided to just make him the elf since that meant buying less costumes. It is always a challenge doing photo shoots that involve our dogs but...they are a part of our family so they were included in part of our photo shoot. This is a tradition I hope we continue as our family evolves and grows. It will be fun to look at these pictures throughout the years!

Setting the stage for our photos!

Elijah and Daddy getting a few in. Isn't my hubby a great Santa! We know he isn't the REAL one but it was fun to dress up for family pictures!

How festive!

"OK Mama. Who is this guy and why does he sound like my Daddy!"

And so the struggles begins. Bonnie is behaving but Wrigley just wants to face the wrong way.

We are getting there but now Elijah decided to eat his hand.

Ahhhh...first good one! The Clause.....errr Parish Family!

Great except Elijah managed to pull his hat halfway off.

Ok no one but Mr. and Mrs clause looking ahead in this one.....and Mrs. Clause had the pancake thigh thing going on.

Awww, I like this one even though Elijah and Wrigley are looking the wrong way.

These turned out really cute. I love how Elijah is touching Daddy's beard.

I love our little family!

I think Elijah was smiling over at Granddad

This is my favorite.

Another that didn't quite make the cut.

Oh how I love this baby.

"Cheeeeeeese!"

My sweet boys. If I still had a desk, this picture would be on it!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Card coming soon.........

Maternity Pictures with Bonnie and Wrigley/37 Weeks

Anyone that knows me, knows how important our dogs are to me. They have been our only children up until Elijah was conceived and will maintain an important position in our family even after Elijah's birth. Both Bonnie and Wrigley have handled my pregnancy like champs. They have both stuck close by me when I was feeling too bad to get out of bed, and really don't like to leave my side.  Wrigley especially likes the baby bump and uses it as a pillow. Bonnie has become even more protective as I hope she will be of Elijah when he emerges in just a few short days. Since our dogs are such an important part of our lives, it seemed fitting to take some maternity photos with them. Thanks to the ever fabulous Jessica Edwards for taking on this challenging and entertaining project with me! Here are some favorites!

Bonnie was first up. We thought we would get them warmed up one at time.
Bonnie and I have been together for 10 years.  It will be hard for her to share me, like it was when she had to share me with Chip, but I know she will grow to love her baby brother, Elijah.
Wrigley decided that he wanted in on the pictures. Apparently he had gotten into something that smelled pretty darn good to Bonnie.
As we learned with our Christmas pictures, getting two dogs to pose for pictures is no easy feat.
Wrigley LOVES getting his ears rubbed. That is the best way to get him to behave...unfortunately it also makes him close his eyes.
Such a proud boy! And so good looking too!
We like to have fun with all that loose skin....and Wrigley doesn't seem to mind.
This is one of the best ones. Everyone is looking forward with eyes open!
Awww my furry babies!
Wrigley making himself at home on my bump
Loves that bump! And loves his Mama!
What a sweet big sister
And there goes Wrigley! Apparently did not want to be photographer in his tee shirt.
He is going to love having another person to give him love!

The Parish Family Christmas Card

A few weeks ago, our fabulous neighbor, Jessica Edwards, took our Christmas photos. (The same day she shot my 19 week maternity pictures). Chip and I had wanted to do a family card and we decided this was the perfect year to start. I imagine our son will get a kick of knowing our card tradition began with his conception. Since Bonnie and Wrigley are an important part of the family they, of course, were included in the photo. Our theme, as you can see, is Santa and (a pregnant) Mrs. Clause. The shot above is the one we used for the card but here are a few others just for fun......
Santa and the Mrs. getting a little "action" under the mistletoe.
Check out the baby bump on Mrs. Clause! Good work Santa!
Who has a bigger bump. (Santa cheated. He put a belly pad in his!)
Wrigley is telling Santa what he wants for Christmas. My guess is....underwear and tissues (what he likes best to steal!)

Bonnie, the picture of obedience as always!
Wrigley can be more of a "challenge" at times.
It was a great day and a great photo shoot! Thank you to Jessica who is so accommodating and awesome. We can't wait for next year to have another face in our picture! Merry Christmas!
