Elijah’s Third Birthday Party

38

Elijah loves Bubble Guppies. And so, in true Parish fashion, we decided to ring in Elijah’s third year with a big themed party complete with themed food, games and decorations. Most of the décor was put up after Elijah went to bed the night before and so it  was so much fun to see his excitement when he woke up the next day. He had been so excited about his birthday and turning three and his party. This was the first year I think he really understood in advance what this occasion was all about. And he told me several times in the weeks leading up to it that he was so excited about his party!

The Birthday Morning

1

We let the birthday boy open most of the gifts from Mama and Daddy (except one surprise) first thing in the morning so we could spread the fun throughout the day.

4

Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site is one of his favorite books and they made it into a game!

3

This may have been more for Mama

5

Elijah loves bubbles and he was very excited about this spill proof bubble set!

8

We had very limited time with so much to do and church that day so Daddy and I decided that we would have a special McDonald’s (covering my eyes) breakfast. I made two birthday plates (since the twins have the same birthday I needed two) so that whoevers birthday it is gets to eat off that special plate all day. Elijah was the first to enjoy this new tradition (since I forgot about it for my own birthday). I made this craft in MOPS and special ordered the birthday fabric because I fell in love with the idea of them being birthday plates.

After breakfast, Elijah and Daddy went to church so Mama could continue to prepare for the party and baby brothers could get good naps. Elijah took special rice krispy treats to his Sunday school class to celebrate his birthday.

THE DÉCOR AND FOOD

14

Of course there was a Happy Birthday Banner for our sweet three year old boy.

17

Blue Bubble Lemonade (the blue bubbles were really blueberries. Smile)

18

Ocean water….I went a little overboard on this. We will be drinking Bubble Guppies water for a long time.

19

The sweets!

20

I have a yummy Gluten/Dairy free cookie recipe and saw this sand dollar idea on Pinerest….and just put the two together.

21

“Bubble Puppy” Chow made by Miss Mallory and a party is not a party without Daddy carving something out of a watermelon! He made this cool shark!

22

We loved the traditional family cake in the Bubbles Guppies theme and I made yummy gluten free and dairy free cupcakes and icing. The icing turning out super good this time and shelf stable…..not a combination I have gotten before!

Favors for EVERYONE

THE COSTUMES!

I love having our family coordinate especially for parties! My friend Amber Campbell was sweet enough to offer to make Elijah’s outfit as his birthday gift and she said she would make the twins shirts for their birthday gifts so I used that for this party! I also asked her to make me one and Chip’s mom had a friend of hers make one for him so our whole family was Bubble Guppied out!

38

Looking so handsome and happy in his Gil and Bubble Puppy outfit

Rory is wearing Goby!

57

Patrick is wearing Nonny!

156

Mommy is wearing Molly

Our sweet birthday boy, Elijah!

42

Love my Elijah!

43

Patrick’s just wandering along.

49

A little more present opening before everyone arrived. Clearing Elijah was thrilled with the construction trucks from Reerah and Grandaddy.

51

Elijah is all smiles for Mister Danny!

53

Mister and Danny and Miss Mallory are so loving and generous to our boys. They have truly become a part of our family.

55

Elijah and his Reerah share some giggles.

60

Patrick has recently discovered his “scream” and enjoys demonstrating it for anyone with ears.

64

My dear friend Debra and her beautiful family (not pictures is gorgeous daughter, Madison, who was off playing with Elijah)

65

Our little Pfunk enjoyed some Reerah time.

67

One of Elijah’s favorite (rare) treats is Pirate Booty so naturally we had to serve it at his party!

69

Rory and Grandaddy having a one on one.

70

I enjoyed some girl time with sweet baby Audrey. She is so sweet and squishy! I love her!

71

Audrey’s Mama (and my dear friend) Kristie and Audrey’s big sister Taylor. I used to babysit Taylor when she was little and now she is going to college!!! Feeling so old!

72

Look at those sweet sweet cheeks!

76

Elijah had so much fun with his friends!

79

This boy loves to play anything that involves a ball!

87

Madison held her own with the boys! Love that girl!

88

Elijah and Jadon seemed to really grasp the concept of football.

89

They had so much fun together!

92

Rory enjoyed his first Pirate Booty experience

93

So did Patrick!

102

Cake time!

104

Daddy got that candle lit and we all sang to this sweet boy!

107

Make a wish Elijah!

113

Another shot with the birthday boy!

114

I even got a kiss! Love those sweet kisses!

117

Elijah loved his cake. And his cupcakes. Yup he had both!

101

Our happy birthday boy!

118

Elijah and Jadon busted out some serious (spontaneous) dance moves after cake. Earlier Elijah performed amazing grace (unprompted) and grabbed his bathroom stood to use as a stage which you can see still sitting in the living room. He is for sure a performing artist.

120

He takes his dancing very seriously.

121

Yeah….they pretty much had a dance off….

123

Daddy and the twins share some guy time!
125

Elijah had fun opening all the thoughtful cards and gifts!

126

Rory and Patrick even had a couple presents from their own birthdays to open!

128

139

Elijah had to go outside to see the present from Mister David……he calls it his police car because it has sirens. And he adores it!

136

It is a total chick magnet

144

The last gift of the day was from Mama and Daddy….a set of Elijah sized bagpipes! WE really wanted to also hire a bagpipe player but had trouble finding one in our budget so DADDY PLAYED THEM! He amazed us all as he did a not too bad rendition of Elijah’s favorite, Amazing Grace! Did not know my husband could play the bagpipes. Neither did he!

146

Daddy giving Elijah some bagpipe instruction

149

He got it to make some noise…which is not easy!

150

He was so excited.

152

Sweet Rory and his Mama.

155

And then there were two…. Heehee

BUBBLE GUPPIES PHOTO “BOOTH”
