Parish Twins First Birthday Party

52

I have had a vision of a Valentine’s Birthday party every since I found out my due date was February 14! This day became even more special to our family when Patrick came home that day at 12 days old and we were finally able to begin our life together as a family of five! I was excited to have the dram of a Valentines Day party realized with the support of my husband who didn’t mind that it was not the most “manly” theme. This theme was very special for our family and it turned out just as I had hoped!

THE DÉCOR AND FOOD!

I had been pouring over ideas online on unique and creative food and décor ideas. I got a lot of my décor from Oriental Trading Company. For Elijah’s first birthday I made most of the décor but with three kiddos there is just not enough time for that. I did however make all the themed treats from scratch!

Our “bar” area was filled with yummy take home favors!

5

Elijah and I made Oreo pops. He did an awesome job decorating. I am pretty excited how these turned out. These may reappear at Elijah’s birthday in April as a party favor!

6

I saw these cute personalized gift boxes and could not resist. I love our precious newborn photos of the twins and thought these could even be enjoyed as “Anne Geddes” style keepsakes by our guests!

7

I recently changed out our mantle pictures to reflect our latest family photos and the twins first birthday photo shoot all which went with our theme. I found the cute canvas I LOVE YOU sign at a craft store and am excited to add it to my growing Valentines Day décor to be used in the year to come!

I love how festive the living room and kitchen looked with the streamers and Chinese lanterns.

13

I really wanted keepsake birthday hats like I had for Elijah but I wanted something that at least matched my color scheme a little. These were actually for a Circus birthday but they were so cute and they had red in them. They ended up being SO CUTE.

11

Just a cute moment I caught when I was getting everything ready. Patrick just loves Wrigley so much. I have keep his kennel closed when he is eating so the babies don’t go after the dog food and Patrick likes to keep him company. Love my tiny boy’s great big giant heart.

The most delicious homemade cut out cookies and they are gluten free!

The beverage station! Love how the punch turned out! Not too sweet. So yummy~

27

Lots of goodies made from scratch!

15

Another throwback from Elijah’s birthday but changed a little to match our Valentine theme!

16

Yummy gluten free cupcakes and I finally mastered frosting that is shelf stable!

17

I found this recipe on Pinterest and it was a HUGE hit! It was a chocolate chip strawberry cake. There was barely any left!

The twins are exclusively breastfed which means no solids….until today. We gave them their first non mama’s milk food at their party. I baked a sweet potato and piped it into cupcake liners so it was festive! I was excited to have thought of a fun way to give them healthy first food!

18

Wrigley was very helpful getting ready for the party.

20

I put my baby journal, belly book and some newborn photo books on the entryway table for our guests to enjoy along with some heart themed treats.

28

Lots of yummy for for our guests to enjoy!

24

Rory had fun modeling his party hat before he went down for his pre party nap!

THE PARTY

We were so excited about so many family and friends coming out to celebrate on year of life for our sweet baby boys. Unfortunately there is a flu going around and so several friends were unable to make it and they were truly missed. We had an amazing time with those that made it and it was a great mix of family and friends with lots of children and babies which always make these events extra special!

30

Grandaddy and Patrick had fun playing ball.

31

Granny, looking quite fabulous, had made the trip from Baton Rouge with the Louisiana Parishes!

47

We were a very color coordinated family!

51

My sweet Rory finally woke up from his nap! I cant believe how much of the “baby” is gone. He looks more and more like a little boy every day.

53

When Rory saw the balloons, he ERUPTED in laughter and giggles. I love his silliness! He has the most wonderful sense of humor!

56
