Gymboree Class

Back in late 2012 when we were visiting my parents in San Antonio, Elijah was not yet walking but getting close and climbing on everything he could reach including the dog ramp my mother has for their cavalier king Charles spaniel, Cinnamon. As Mom watched my little monkey working so hard to get to the top of these steps and ramps, problem solving along the way, she said that we have got to get him into a gym class! So in January, Elijah began his weekly Gymboree sessions. By that time, he had taken his first steps and was walking about half the time and crawling about half the time. He was immediately bumped up to level three from level two due to his walking status on the very first day and has happily explored the Gymboree world in that class for the past month. Each week is a different theme. There are tunnel weeks, nursery rhyme weeks and lots of others as well. Each class ends with bubbles and parachute time. Elijah's favorite thing at Gymboree is all the different kinds of balls. In fact, this is what I use as motivation to get him to climb and do the different activities and boy does it work well! Today he climbed up ladder that was a straight up incline! It has been pretty cool to watch him explore and learn and each week he is able to expand on his activities as he gets stronger and more balanced! Thankfully Gymboree is camera friendly (YAY!) so this week I was able to get some shots of Elijah in action!

Elijah loves giggling with the ladies at the front desk

Got to get some good stretching in before class!

Beautiful boy

He's a shopper like his Mama!
Working hard on this obstacle course

"Look Mama, I'm up high!"

"On your mark.....get set...."

Go Elijah, Go!
This was the ball of choice this week.

"I found it Mama!"

Such a happy baby. :)

Elijah has become quite proficient at climbing up the slides.

"I'm coming, Mama!"

"Okay, now what..."

I always need to make sure to put the ball far enough away because ones he gets to it, he stops.

This was the most impressive feat of the day.....it is a ladder that is straight up and down and my little baby climbed up all by himself....to get the ball of course.

Gymboree ROCKS!
