Fourth Of July Weekend with the Parish Littles

4
It was a busy Fourth of July weekend for out family filled with fireworks, farmers market and lots of swimming! I have always loved this time of year growing up where I did…….the city of the birth of our country! Fourth of July was a highly celebrated holiday with lots of meaning and awesome summer weather! This year, thanks to a pretty mild summer thus far, I got that feeling back for the first time in years of the awesomeness of a family packed Independence Day weekend and weather that I can actually enjoy when I am outside! It was awesome.
Fourth of July Kickoff! Swimming at Mr. Danny’s House
We started our holiday weekend with a dip in the pool with Mr. Danny and Miss Mallory! Our boys just love getting in the water! When we went to Aquatica with my parents, Rory was especially excited to kick his feet in the water and so my parents sent us this awesome baby float which both babies but especially Rory just loved. Elijah’s is becoming closer and closer to being an independent swimmer and really enjoyed working on his skills with his Daddy.

Dinner and Fireworks
After we had our fun in the pool, we went home and got ready for a party at Mr Danny’s cousins’ house where there would be an incredible display of fireworks! Before we left, everyone came to our house for some yummy pizza from BJ’s. Chip picked up a dairy free, gluten free pizza from the grocery store for me! So yummy! Then we headed out. The kids really enjoyed being around all the people and Elijah had a blast in the backyard with all the toys and other kids. We ended up leaving after only a few fireworks went off. Apparently Elijah and Patrick are not quite ready. Rory on the other hand was fascinated and not at all bothered by the noise.

The Farmers Market
I was so excited to discover there is a farmers market not far from where we live every Saturday. So this weekend I loaded up the kids and we met Grandmother there to do a little local shopping!

Rory looked very cool

Elijah enjoyed tasting some of the wares of the vendors. Patrick tasted Mama’s wares as he nursed while we walked around. It was a great day!
Church and More Swimming
Sunday, we fell back into our beloved Sunday routine of church followed by lunch and naps at Grandmothers. It had been a while since we have been able to do this with traveling on both sides so it felt good to get back to our norm. This was all followed by a divine swim at the Warner’s house. Unfortunately it was a quick swim a storm rolled in but we hope for a redo later this week!
