An Afternoon at Babies R Us!

We were so excited to find out about our son, that on the Sunday after the ultrasound, we went to Babies R Us to start our registry! We found a beautiful crib and dresser set that will look so sweet in our Classic Pooh nursery that is already well under way!

I know this little fella just can't wait to make his debut and see all the neat things Mommy and Daddy picked out for him!

True to his gender, Chip had a fantastic time playing with the "gun" as we walked up down the baby isles.

We found a pacifier with Elijah's name on it! It was a fun purchase to commemorate the day as well as finding out about our boy!

Elijah's Gender Ultrasound Video!

Elijah's First Party: Gender Reveal!

After our ultrasound on Saturday, we threw a big party in honor of our son and to make the announcement that we are having a boy! The original plan was for me to sit outside in a chair with balloons (blue and pink) and for Chip to cut loose one of the colors, leaving only the pink or blue (in this case, the blue). Well, while we were waiting, Chip tied the balloons to the chair and ran inside to get everyone to come out. It was a very windy day and while he was gone, the blue balloons decided to break free, leaving us with the pink. As a result, the announcement was a little less dramatic but still well received! It was an amazing day and we were surrounded by family and friends who are all so excited about the upcoming arrival of Elijah Parish!

Chip was practicing his daddy skills on our nephew, Jacob Parish. I can't wait to see all the neat things Jacob will teach Elijah growing up!

Thomas and Rhonda kindly took over the grilling duties so Chip was able to enjoy our guests. This couple always steps up to help us and has become like family.

Ashlee was my first co-worker and first room mate in Houston. She is a great friend and we were thrilled that she and her daughter, Brianna, were able to celebrate with us!

Wrigley was happy to have so many children to play with!

Nan is my 88 year old grandmother. She is very excited to welcome her first Great Grandson. She is taking us this week to pick out Elijah's crib!

Jacob was fascinated by the big dogs! I know that he and Elijah will have great fun growing up with our "gentle giants", Bonnie and Wrigley.

I know Bonnie is going to be a protective big fur sister.

I think that Wrigley and Elijah will grow up to be best friends!

There is proud Grandad, ready to welcome baby Elijah with open arms

As a big surprise for me, Chip bought Elijah a travel system and bouncy chair in the theme of classic Winnie the Pooh (our nursery theme!). They are beautiful pieces and I can't wait to put our precious little son in these.

Grandma and Grandad Parish gave us this beautiful certificate for Baby's First Picture (also Pooh). Elijah Parish, we can't wait to welcome you in a little under 24 weeks ( though Mommy thinks it is more like 23 weeks). See you soon, buddy.

It's a Boy!

On Saturday, November 19th, we had our gender reveal ultrasound and found out I am carrying a son! At a little over 16 weeks pregnant (24 to go!) we were able to tell quite quickly and easily that there is a little boy growing in my belly. I cannot express how excited we are to welcome Elijah Latheal Parish to the world and 24 weeks just seems so far away!

Lacy and Rita were a part of TEAM ULTRASOUND, friends and family that were able to join us for this special day. Rita correctly predicted (and not so secretly hoped) that this little baby was going to be one of the "fellas".

Proud parents anxiously awaiting our turn on the table. I just couldn't believe the moment was finally here when I would be able to call our child by his name! Of course a the point this picture was taken, I did not know it was a "him".

Look at the size of that awseome 16 week belly. Just four months ago it was flat as a pancake (well maybe not THAT flat) and now it is ripe and delicious with that growing baby inside!

Sometimes it takes a while to determine the baby's gender, sometimes the Mommy has to walk around a bit and the baby does not cooperate. No sooner had the gel gone on my tummy before she said there was no doubt about it. It's a boy! Elijah was obviously tired of being called Sweet P and "it". He wanted us to know who was in there. He is already a proud baby!

Team Ultrasound was a very special group of friends and family. Grandad (Parish), Elizabeth, Jacob, Lacy and Rita - We are so happy you were able to share this moment with us. I know the rest of our family was there in spirit and shared our joy later in the day. We are so lucky to have such a large family and Elijah will have so many people to love him.

It's a boy!

Yep, definatley a boy!
